The creative class - del 1

"The Rise of the Creative Class" av Richard Florida

Jag har börjat läsa Richard Floridas tolkning av "the creative class" - igen. Favorit i repris. Jag kommer framöver att leverera vissa utvalda delar ur denna limegröna pocket.

"The great dilemma of our time is that having generated such incredible creative potential, we lack the broader social and economic system to fully harness it and put it into use. No one is going to do this for us. It´s up to us - all of us - to complete the transformation to a society that taps and rewards our full creative potential. Human creativity is the ulitmate economic resource. The ability to come up with new ideas and better ways of doing things is ultimately what raises productivity and thus living standards." (s xiii)

"Many say that we now live in an "information" economy or a "knowledge" economy. But what´s more fundamentally true is that we now have an economy powered by human creativity." (s 4)
